CHAPTER 8

We cruised back and forth in the cove for a minute, as Maddy got a handle on the bike. Then I jumped off. Unfortunately, she couldn’t keep it balanced and fell, having to swim it down, but she had a sense of it now. After two more tries she was up on her own, wobbly but riding and from the open-mouthed grin stretching across her face, was having a blast.

The girl cruised back and forth in the cove for a few minutes, then rode by and I hopped back on. Maddy is tiny, so she was able to stand between me and the bikes handles without issue. Her weight didn’t slow us down much, and I gunned the motor once we were balanced and took off, loving the scream of delight Maddy let out.

I took her on a ride around my favorite haunts and even jumped the wake of a passing boat, careful to stay well clear of its prop. That caused Maddy to grab onto my arms and hold tight, her firm ass pressed against me. When I cruised past an empty cove with a sandy beach in the back, she pointed and I angled the jet ski over.

“Let’s go for a swim!” she flashed me an impish grin before letting go and diving into the water.

My eyes widened when she shed her life jacket, then the bikini top and bottoms beneath and threw the pile of garments onto the sand. Rolling onto her back, the blonde cocked an eyebrow at me.

“The water’s perfect… want to join me?”

I couldn’t drag my eyes away from the pink points of flesh breaking the water’s surface and beached the jet ski with a grunt. When I hesitated with my hand on the drawstring of my swimming trunks, Maddy rolled over so she had a better view and laughed at the blush on my cheeks.

“Is Paul shy?” She shook her head in mock wonder. “I never thought I’d see it.”

“Then you haven’t been paying attention,” I said, feeling the heat extend down my chest as I kicked my shorts off and onto the shore where they landed on Maddy’s jacket.

“Oh, I’ve been paying attention,” the girl said, and there was a purring quality to her voice that made me look over, which I regretted instantly.

Her large blue eyes were locked on the appendage swinging between my thighs and with a muttered oath, I sank into the water, letting the cool mud squish around my knees. She flashed me a wink, then rolled back onto her back and stroked lazily to deeper water. Her body elongated against the surface of the water and it was my turn to stare at the nubile form, my tongue drying until I realized my jaw was hanging open.

“You, Blake, and Owen owned our school before you graduated,” Maddy said, picking her head up and catching me staring as she tread in place. “Everyone paid attention to you three.”

“No, they didn’t,” I snorted a laugh and slowly swam out to join her.
